Meet A Modern Day Sir Jocelyn Lucas - Harry Parsons - Having a Blast With His "Ilmer" Pack In The Green Meadows & Cool Country Streams Of The UK
Visit MYSEALYHAMS.COM & Spend A Day As Sir J. Would Have Enjoying Dogs In Nature
Visit mysealyhams.com for a refreshing take on the working Sealyham in Great Britain. Meet Harry Parsons, the man some call a modern day Sir Jocelyn his innovation by having the guts to take the breed back out of the show ring and return it to the fields and meadows where it was originally bred to hunt and run.
Like any true terrierman, Mr. Parsons, "tweaked" his version of the Sealyham, to make them smaller, less furnished and fussy and more fit to work. His version crosses the Jack Russell with the Sealyham, creating a dog that looks very much like the classic terriers of the 1920's that Sir Jocelyn preferred, before they became exaggerated by the endless pusuit of blue ribbons.
If Sir Jocelyn were alive today, I think he would feel at home walking through the green meadows of the UK with Harry Parsons. Well done Sir!

Commisson A Pet Potrait By Fine Aritst & Club Member
Beth Carlson
It's no surprise Beth Carlson’s landscape paintings and animal portraits are coveted by many animal lovers across the country. Her ability to constantly capture an individual animal’s personality and physical characteristics can be directly attributed to her far-reaching knowledge pertaining to animals in general. “She possesses a conviction of accuracy and authenticity which are both necessary and appreciated by her collectors,” said Robert Abbett about Carlson’s work.
In the relatively short time that Carlson has been painting, her work has graced the covers of many national and international dog and horse publications along with being on the cover of two
books. There have been featured articles about her in these magazines as well. Two of her paintings are now in permanent possession of The National BirdDog Museum Hall of Fame in Grand Junction, Tennessee. Three paintings will be bequeathed to the American Kennel Club Museum at a future date. She is also an Associate member of the nationally recognized organizations:
Women Artists of the West and Oil Painters of
America.
Although a New Jersey native, Beth lives on a farm on the coast of Maine with her husband, dogs and horses.
Your Lucas Terrier commissioned painting will be an interactive process. Beth will want to learn as much as she can about your pet, hear your stories and see your photographs. If possible, she would prefer to use her own photographs. The composition of the painting is a very personal decision on your part. The background can be as meaningful as the pet(s) portrait. Maybe a favorite place of yours, a camp up-country or a favorite park. Once you both agree to what would look best she can start the painting process.
Feel free to contact Beth with any further questions at bethcarlson2@yahoo.com or call 207/443-5262. This is a gift that will last for generations.
